I wrote a childhood memoir called "Running from the Devil" (Crossroad Books, New York City) that Publisher's Weekly called  "hilarious, sad and fully absorbing." In 2018, the book was converted into a graphic novel (Markosia, London). One of the ways in which I generated attention for the book--which speaks to the power of a child's imagination--was by promoting a faux conference for imaginary friends and foes. That's right: a conference restricted to the unreal. "people." People from all over the United States enrolled their "imaginaries" in the "Unreal Roundup."

When people enrolled an imaginary friend, they had the option of uploading an image. Here are some of the "imaginaries" from various stats around the country: Peter; Nana; Dimitri; Cara; Buddy.
